Mrs. Parra

Hi! My name is Tara Parra.  I've been teaching since December of 2006.  I have taught at Nelson Elementary for most of that time in grades Kindergarten to 3rd grade.  I received my Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Education from McNeese State University (geaux pokes 💙💛🤠).  I am highly qualified to teach PreK through 3rd grade students from the Louisiana Department of Educaiton.  

When I'm not teaching, I spend a lot of time with my family!  I have a husband, 2 sons, and 1 daughter.  My sons both play baseball and my daughter dances.  Their activities keep my husband and I pretty busy, but we also enjoy spending time at home together and enjoying our pool, playing games, and watching movies when not at a baseball game or dance competition.  We attend church at Our Lady Queen of Heaven and we are huge McNeese Cowboy fans!  You'll see us at most of their games whether baseball or football. 

Teaching is my PASSION and I am honored to be your child's teacher!
